Processing time for a surrender certificate
According to the website, processing times may vary depending on the case and some applications might require more processing time than others and the process takes between 5 to 10 business days.
Renunciation of Indian passport and application for OCI simultaneously in the United Kingdom is not possible at VFS.
If you live in the USA the Indian passport cancelation facility and OCI applications are available at the same time (via Cox & Kings, the High Commission’s outsourcing partner for India) However, this is not feasible in the United Kingdom.
